My French really sucks. I'm sorry!
In two weeks I'll be in Montreal and I would like to go for a ride with some other unicyclists.
It's gonna be the first time for me being in Canada during the winter (I'm from Germany). Do you guys still ride outside?
Can't wait to here from someone!

Hey Berit , great to see you join the forum. to answer your question yes some of us still ride outside (check out Jeanbute he's insane and rides in crazy amount of snow). However we might actually rent out a skatepark like last year dring the winter (how long are you staying in montreal). With you in europe, Benoit in Africa (all we're missing now is someone in Asia and we're worldwide Baby...

Hey Berit, c'est bon de te voir te joindre a notre forum. pour répondre a ta question, oui certains d'entre nous roulent encore dehors (cherche Jeanbute il roule comme un débile dans des tonnes de neige). Par contre on va peut-etre louer un skate park cet hiver (hint hint Julien). Avec toi en europe et ben en afrique tout ce qu'il nous manque c'est quelqu'un en Asie et on est international...

Sure we do still ride, somewhat, outside during the winter. The isn't much different places to ride but we still have some.

Also, like Buzz said, we are going to rent a bikepark, but no confirmed dates yet.

We will organize an outside ride at Mont-Royal for sure. Winter unicycling(WUni) is a great challenge and it's always funny.

Thanks for all the quick responses!
I'll go and buy my train ticket tomorrow and then I can let you know when exactly I'll be in Montreal. Probably on Dezember 30th. On January 5th I'll go to the US for one week but I'll come back to Montreal. I have some friends in Montreal and Sherbrooke to visit but I don't know when I'll be where. But I'll be around. From Sherbrooke there are always buses going to Montreal.
Back in Germany I played in a unicycle hockey team. Here in Halifax I started to do trail and muni which I find really exciting and would love to continue.
The outside ride at Mont-Royal and the skatepark sounds like fun!

Now I know about the first period I'll be in Montreal. On Dezember 31st I'll arrive in the morning and will stay until January 5th. In Sherbrooke and Montreal I'll be from January 12th again until the middle of February.

Isn't it hard to ride and move when you're wearing that many clothes?

well you don't have to be wearing a lot of clothes when you're in the wood (that's the place I prefer in winter) anywhere, just by rolling you get hot.

Hello Berit!

We'll probably ride together at MontRoyal ! Every saturday morning at 9h00am I'll be there riding. There's alot of people walking, compressing the snow so even with over 2m snow it is ridable And there's some steep hills allowing us to ride in a big amount of snow.

About the clothes I dont see a difference between spring/automn vs winter. With appropriate gear riding in winter is one of the most enjoyable ride you can ever have on a mountain unicycle! -20°c, -30°c no problem I'll be there !

Well, I have no idea what unicycle I have . When I wanted to get a unicycle all unicycles around $350 at unicycle.com (the Canadian version) were sold out. My unicycle buddy here in Halifax got the unicycle at a bikeshop. It says m-uni on the unicycle but that's it.
I would say I'll be at Mont Royal on the 3rd of January (that's Saturday, right?). As I told you already, I just started m-uni and trails recently, so I hope it's possible for me to ride there.
Jeanbute: Could you please explain where you guys exactly meet on Saturdays?
Benoit: Do you speak German or have you been to Germany? Don't worry, I'll come back to Montreal after the 7th of January . I'll probably be in Sherbrooke most of the time, but I can come to Montreal for a few days.

I have been to Germany, but not long anof as I would have had love to, and I speak just a bit of german. I can manage a small introduction and some random useless sentence. I just love the langage tho, so i,ve been trying to learn it by myself for some time. I,ll probable take a course at the Geuth Institut before the 1 year trip I,m planing to do (on my unicycle hopefully).

It would be nice to practice my pronounciation and to learn some new sentence will your in town.
